Faith & Focus

With everything going on in the world, it made me think, have we gotten too comfortable on Earth? God has blessed us so much, maybe we’ve forgotten what the end goal is. The goal is to make disciples. There should also be a longing for heaven because that’s where God is. We should want to be near him. While we are here on Earth, being near him consists of: reading his word, praying, fasting, loving others, serving in our church, and spreading the gospel to create more disciples. However, when we focus on our desires, the goal changes and we begin to desire the things of the world and not our God. The current virus that’s going around has changed the way most us live, it has caused us to re-evaluate how we live, and who and what we are living for. Are we excited about the kingdom of God? Or are we fighting to stay in the world? Perhaps that’s why we’ve become lax in our behavior and attitude. Do we believe there is a heaven? Or do we think Earth is all there is? Our lives are more than Earthly things and thoughts. We represent the King of kings! This way of thinking contradicts most things we encounter in our everyday lives, however, “…greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” If we remember, whose we are and why we are here, maybe we will regain our focus and faith.
